I recently moved from Virginia and after reading some of the comments on here I was dreading coming but honestly it was not any different from the DMVs in Virginia. The staff is just trying to do their job and in order to do that you need to have the right documents. I had to go back three times but I was helped by Tiffany who was amazing! She was really nice and made the process more bearable.
MVA. Pretty good! I have been to the Waldorf location about 6 times since I left the military and changed my residency to MD. I experienced both good and bad employees but 90% of what I observed were polite, professional people trying their best to help. They deal with a population that is everything from very literate and prepared professionals to some that can barely read and write, In any language. I say keep doing the thankless job that you are doing and police the few bad eggs that you have that sometimes give you a bad name. Thanks for YOUR service.
So my experience is always to contact corporate because it seems to be a staffing concern, the employees I interacted with are very pleasant and helpful. The issue is short staff for a place that will receive massive amount of business in one day so don't just stand and complain. Go online and give feedback for improving public service. Plan to spend half of your day here so schedule accordingly!
I can't believe my experience today. It is Saturday morning. My driver's license expires on Monday. I take a book because I know that I will be at mva for a while. I walk in and the place is packed. There were two agents dedicated to license renewal. I was in that line less than 10 minutes. They checked my eyes, logged me into the system and directed me to a kiosk to print out a temporary license. The agent there walked me through the process. It was very easy. I will get my permanent license in 2-3 weeks. I was walking out the door about 20 minutes after walking in the door. Kudos to MVA. Outstanding process. Also all of the agents thay I encountered were polite and helpful.
My previous transaction at the MVA was about thirty minutes.
This MVA is my regular service center.A week ago, I have scheduled an appointment to get my driver"s license .I went to my appointment last Saturday at 10:48 AM hoping that the process will be quick and easy, but no I ended answering same questions that I had already answered online. To make a long story short, getting an appointment before going there did not change the processing time. I was there for one hour which I was not expecting to spend at the DMV.
Service time was ok.Filling the form online should accelerate the process.Hoping DMV will do something about it.
