I was going away for awhile on business and needed a really easy, low-maintenance style. My natural hair is long, but fine. I researched for about 2 months, trying to find a tension-free style, plus the right braiding salon. I found this shop and noticed it met my criteria based on the reviews, location and pictures. Yet I was still sooooooo hesitant....so much so that I almost bolted from the waiting area on the day of my appointment....yes, so serious. I am just petrified of some of the horror stories I've witnessed with "braiding gone bad" Lol.
I had a great experience! I showed them a photo and the owner did it exactly the same! The shop was very clean and I enjoyed the music they played. I rated them four stars because my appointment was at 430 and they did not start on my hair until 530. That is my only con. I will be returning. I am truly satisfied.

I love my style and the fact that I still have my edges intact! So far, so good. The ladies were personable; very professional and courteous. I'll definitely give this shop another go and highly recommend!
My said style, feeding cornrows, was $120. Very reasonable. They do accept electronic payments, but yall know these salons prefer cold, hard cash, in hand huntie.
The lady that did my Senegalese twist! I could hug her! My natural hair struggled for three years and three big chops. I was hesitant to try a new braid place cause they are so heavy handed. After doing the crotchet ones myself, I was in no mood to do a DIY again! I was greeted okay and met a lady that specialize in Senegalese twist! Now, I never met a braider that specializes in that. Needless to say she did a good job on my hair and did not ruin my edges. She does braid tight, but if you tell her its too tight she loosens it. When I removed my braids, I had over 2 inches of new growth and little to no split ends. Of course it shredded since I left it in for 2 months, but overall my hair is much longer than before and I love that stylist for taking such good care with braiding my hair. I will be going back in the future for more protective styles.
I opted to visit (recon) this salon a week before my appointment, to talk to the owner, check out the shop and its surroundings, ensure that they didn't use spritz or hard gel on the hair, price, type of hair, etc., etc.,.....yall I had an in depth checklist, I was not playing around.
I was temporarily satisfied after asking my multitude of questions so I set up my appointment date and time. On the day of, I arrived 30 minutes early on a Friday morning. The shop was already open, with about three ladies already getting slayed. As I was waiting the braider confirmed my style again, asked my color and a few other questions, then began prepping. She started braiding my hair at 8:05am and was completely finished at 10:30am. Yasss huntie!!! I am very impatient and I refuse to spend hours in a salon and even more so I absolutely refuse to spend hours taking said style out when it's time. No sir, No ma'am. I sincerely appreciated how quick she was! Outstanding.
Every time I go to Oumoul's, I bring a picture with me of how I would like my hair to look, and every time I was VERY SATISFIED. Very nice people, and atmosphere.

I am deadly fearful of braids, any kind of braids, doesn't matter. The experience has always been terrifying....but they say conquer your fears, because it's nothing more than a state of mind....okkkkk......
