My husband was stationed overseas for a year, and our household items were placed in storage during that time. My desk came back broken, and our dresser was cracked in several places. The major item of complaint though was our 42" Sharp LCD tv was stolen. I filed my claim over two months ago. The company will not provide a point of contact for their claims department and has not even given a time frame for their reviewal process. I am always calling there, and I'm told to call the following week. It's highly unprofessional to not assign a representative for claim reviewal. The only mode of communication is by phone or fax. This place has lousy customer service!
P.S. I gave one star only because this forces you to make a rating. My opinion is that they don't deserve that level of generosity!
This company should be forced out of business by the military. I am a vendor for AMC Relocations. They contracted to use 10 1-800-PACK-RAT containers for a job at Andrews AFB. They've had the containers for 145 days before even beginning to make a payment on the +$6000 they owed us. I had to call the Military Police and file a report. Then I had to threaten to tow the containers away with government property inside them before the contracting office got involved and started applying pressure. The worst part was they said they didn't have the money to pay even though they had been paid in full for the entire contract by Andrews AFB! They are liars, they never call you back. The owner Arnell Mumford is a charlatan and his office manager Kathy Gregory has no authority to take action and leaves you with the distinct impression she is incompetent. The US Military should never contract with them again.
The worst experience I've EVER encountered with storage/moving. They were gontracted by the governement to do long term storage of our household goods in 2005 during an overseas assignment, and I can't give enough negative feedback at the result. Fast forward to last week (January 2010), when we finally received our items back. We'd been promised that the shipment would be environmentally controlled, but sure enough, there was extensive water and mold/mildew damage to about half the items. Notable among these was a brand-new, $2000+ dining room set, on which the table/all chairs were COVERED with mildew. The dispatcher was notified immediately, directing the shippers to return the items for cleaning. That said, we can't spend more than an hour at a time in our garage unpacking/assessing additional damage as the pervasive odor of mildew sickens both my wife and I. I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg, and have NO IDEA how this will be rectified (as there's no way we can bring these items back into our new home. Very frustrating, and my advice is to avoid this company like the plague if their services are offered to you.....
