NIGHTMARE!!!!! A move that has taken me only 5 hours to pack and unpack in the past is now going into hour 6 with no end in sight. Of course the fact that I was told they would be here between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and they didn't show up until 10:30 a.m. wasn't a good start. On top of that, instead of the 5 or 6 men I had contracted for I got 2 who clearly didn't know how to move let alone pack a truck (which is now being unpacked and repacked because someone with actual moving experience showed up in hour 4). Since my furniture is going into storage I contracted for furniture bags and then shrink wrap. Still waiting to see a bag! No TV boxes either, even after the manager said he forgot them and had to get the from the office. What he came back with were two boxes about 16" x 16" that he's going to cut down to protect the TV's. Hate to tell him but two 16" x 16" boxes cut down or otherwise will not "protect" 2 TV's sized 42" and 48". Guess he doesn't care because he's vanished and is no where to be found. Who knows what time this nightmare will be over tonight because they're not done packing things the right way and we still have a 1 1/2 hour drive (one-way) to the storage unit. Did I mention the damage done to my walls? I'm not talking about the usual dings and bangs you expect when you move, I am talking about serious gouges that will require drywall repair. Finally finished at 7:30 p.m. with the storage unit packed in such a way I will never find anything.
If you use this company DO NOT BELIEVE anything Solomon or Dominic tell you - even if it's written into the contract. I now have furniture sitting in a storage unit that is not in the furniture bags they promised (and I paid for), not shrink wrapped and standing on its side. Glass top tables and mirrors totally unprotected. I am going to have to hire people that know what they're doing to cover furniture and repack the storage unit so my furniture isn't ruined. Obviously, you can't leave things stored like that for any length of time. And, the nightmare that is MB Trucking and Moving continues!
I was looking for movers to move me at the last minute. A friend gave me Dominic's number and told me to give him a call. Dominic was very helpful and tried his best to work with me and my budget. Highly recommend MB Trucking and Moving. Professional, prompt, careful and fast. They were careful with all the items, took care not to mess the carpeting when they were moving the items to the new house (it was raining) and were able to move it all in less time than expected. Very fairly priced and very professional movers.
Dominic and his team were very professional, kind, and just got the job done right. We moved locally, and all I can say is that we were very impressed. MB Trucking & Moving is wonderful! I called them at the last minute to have a large piece of furniture moved out of a relative's house, and they were able to accommodate me for a very fair price. They took great care of the furniture and were so friendly and courteous. We will definitely be using them again!
