Great place if you want good hibachi, sushi, and a cheap cocktail. Their entree’s are an average price. The hibachi meal comes with soup and salad. They have a great variety of different types of sushi to choose from. They have an everyday $5 special for mixed drinks...and they are strong :-) They need to hire more people to ensure everyone is being served at a faster pace.
This was my first visit to the Waldorf location. Upon entering and having not one, but two employees standing behind the hostess stand, one would expect to be acknowledged in some way, shape, form or fashion. I was eager to enjoy a quick bite based on the aroma that welcomed me, but waited for some sort of communicative interaction from the two. Not a "Hi/Hello/Welcome to Kobe's, we'll be right with you/One moment"/A head nod.... NOTHING! They both made eye contact with me (for three solid seconds), said nothing and continued their conversation. I proceeded to walk over to the bar, assuming that maybe they were in the middle of handling a situation and that someone would "follow" behind and at least provide a menu. Not a single acknowledgement was given at the bar. I decided to leave after two minutes. Issues arise for all service industry employees at any given moment, but to blatantly disregard guests upon their arrival?! (Waldorf) Kobe, you're downright disrespectful.
We get sushi here on a regular - it is SO GOOD! We've also had their hibachi style chicken and shrimp/ fried rice - it's ALL GOOD! We have been in this location for over a year and ran across this place. It's a weekly visit now. 80% of the time our food is to go. But we have sat in the restaurant a few times to dine in. It's very nice in there, the lights are dim, small and usually not packed as most people get their orders to go. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Always good food and friendly service. The owners work hard to give their patrons the best all around experience and for a reasonable price.
We use to only get sushi from kodori. After we found Kobe I can now say they have the best sushi in the area! Cheap drinks and so many vegetarian options. Friendly staff as well. Love this place
