Shame on you, Waldorf Toyota!
General knowledge of the vehicle I was looking for was great. In my few times visiting the dealership I was always greeted and assisted immediately. At times, some peoples actions toward me felt contrived but that is nothing new from a dealership. When I presented facts from online research I was spoken to with sarcastic tone in phrases such as "They don't even sell cars" and "I'd like to see who sold them a car for that cheap." I get that they have to make money, but it's frustrating. I didn't invent the ridiculous system of car buying and negotiating. Finally, when I rejected their offer that was $400 above the price I decided I would pay a salesman spoke to me with an aggressive, short, rude tone and said "Alright, I'll tell my manager that you're not interested and you can be on your way." I think this was his way of trying to put pressure on me to settle which other dealers had done. The tactics that most salespeople employ generally annoy me and this wasn't an exception. It wasn't what was said, but how it was said that left an impression with me. The manager came over and my salesman went on to help another customer without saying another word to me. There was no follow-up call or e-mail. I wasn't asking for something unreasonable. Even if I was, there is no need to be rude, they could simply tell me that it isn't reasonable for them to sell the car at that price right now. I am probably mostly frustrated with the experience of negotiating and buying a new car in general, not with this one specific dealer other than a few unnecessary hard lines that were taken.
I recently purchased my 2017 Toyota Corolla from this dealership. I had the opportunity to work with Bob Bowman as my salesman. In 2015 I bought a Ford Mustang from him and the entire process was smooth and easy. I came in, he asked me what I wanted and he came through with the perfect match. During my recent visit, Bob worked with me to find a car within my budget that had all the features I requested. Both of my siblings have bought cars from this dealership and my sister worked directly with Bob. Bob has great character and integrity. If you want great quality service and an awesome car, I would highly recommend this dealership and ask for Bob.
The building I reside at requires the car to have non-paper plates in order to get a parking sticker and as a result, i have to go through the inconvenience of street parking.
Worst and most frustrating experience. Went in June of 2017 to look into pricing of a Toyota Tundra. We already own a Toyota that we are still making payments on. Since the truck was a business necessity we were willing to trade in our current car for a used or cheaper new Toyota to make the Tundra more affordable for us. We gave our salesman and finance person our budgetary restrictions and they said they would do some research and get back to us. We got a call a few days later saying everything was worked out and to come in, when we came in we were shown a new car, the salesman assuring us that it fit into our budget because of the incentives that come with buying new. Sat in the dealership for 4 hours, asked for what the numbers came out to multiple times, but was never told until we sat down with finance and the new quoted rate was nearly $500/month over our original budget. We were honestly surprised when we got the call it all worked out. Wasted 2 days and hours there for absolutely nothing. To make matters worse, I got a credit monitoring alert saying that Waldorf Toyota put through TWELVE hard inquiries throughout the whole process!! Now I have to work with the credit bureau to have these removed. On top of all of this I emailed the general manager Floyd Alexander to express how disappointed I was in the whole process, he said he would look into it and get back to me and now 5 months later, still no response. On the upside the staff is very nice, but I would think twice about purchasing a vehicle from here. I didn't even buy one and am still dealing with the aftermath of just getting pricing from them.
Unfortunately I cannot write good things about Waldorf Toyota. While my salesperson, Travis, was great Marcus in the finance department too, when it came down to the home stretch, Dustin, in my opinion, tried to price gouge me with a set of rims which in turn was a total turn off and caused me to walk away from the deal. Marcus tried to save me as a client but there was no miscommunication: Dustin tried to overcharge me for a set of rims. Period. There are literally dozens of Toyota dealerships in the DMV area - I won't be doing business with this one. Buyer beware!
Bought the car from them on October 31 and 1 and a half months later still do not have license plates. I called them 3 times and was promised that the plates will arrive "in a week at most" every time I called.
After they get your payment and signature, you can forget about any customer service. I have not received a single call back. According to the lady that picks up the phone, her manager is always out of the dealership.
